SofA is delighted to end our semester with Ellen Rowley. Ellen is a Ph.D student at the Department of History of Art and Architecture at Trinity College Dublin, as well as the School of Architecture at UCD. Her research interest centres on post war architecture in Ireland, and the relationship of the built output of the architects of the time to the discourse occurring in the schools of architecture. For further information please see; http://www.tcd.ie/History_of_Art/research/ellen.php .She will be talking to us about the provision of housing in Dublin in the period 1940-57, a landmark period in Irish architectural history as it marks a change in attitude towards living in the city and towards the provision of housing for the disadvantaged.
The talk will begin at the earlier time of 17:00, as always refreshments will be served before the talk begins.
